How to Take a Screenshot Using MWsnap

Screenshot Instructions

  1. CLICK HERE to download MWsnap if you don't already have it
  2. When prompted to Open or Save, choose Save and then choose your Desktop as the Save To location
  3. To launch MWsnap, double-click the MWsnap icon from your Desktop (click OK if you get a Hotkey window)



  4. From the main MWsnap window, select the following:



  5. Your cursor will now change to a cross. Go to the top-left of the area you want to screenshot and then click once with your mouse.
  6. Drag your mouse from the top-left to the bottom-right of the area you want a screenshot of



  7. When the entire area is selected, click with your mouse one more time and MWsnap will grab the screenshot and present you with the main MWsnap window again.

Now that the screenshot is captured, we need to save it in a specific format. Continue on to the next section for instructions on saving your screenshot as a PNG.

Instructions on Saving the Screenshot

You should now see your image in the main MWsnap window.

  1. Click on File and then Save As
  2. Select a save-to location that you will be able to remember (i.e. a folder for Screenshots in My Documents).
  3. In the filename field, give your screenshot a short name detailing what the image is, plus the date. Example: onesite_20JAN10
  4. In the "Save as type:" field, ensure "PNG (*.png)" is selected (NOTE: Do not choose Bitmap_

Now, create a new email and attach this screenshot to the email. Do not put the screenshot into the body of the email, please leave it as an attachment only. Send your screenshot and any other required details (typically step-by-step instruction of how you got the error are required, at a minimum) to the email address you were given.
